T HE K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S been more than ever, but God has been very gracious in giving us excellent ma terial to work on where the life can really count for Him. We are thinking of one splendid specimen of a man, well educated and cultured, in fact a teacher in an eastern school, a man who has- seen much of the world; but his extrem ity iiT our city was God’s opportunity. Brought up in one of the strictest sects of the Pharisees, he was led to see him self before God as a lost sinner, and from a drifting, dejected, discouraged, disheartened man, he was transformed by the Spirit of God into a bright, happy,, victorious Christian. Christened a Christian Following close upon the steps of this man, we encountered a clean-faced col lege fellow. Asked whether he was a Christian, he answered promptly that he- was. We further inquired if he would object to telling us when and how he became a Christian. The bewildered look of blank amazement was accompan ied with, “Why, what do you mean by being saved?” This soon led to the fact that he had been christened as a babe- and had absolutely not another thing to pin his hope for eternity on. Oh, the pity of it, and the multitudes in a similar state, “never coming to the knowledge of the truth!” It was a delicate but necessary task to strip that fine lad of every single vestige of his twenty odd years of erroneous ideas, and as he stood fully exposed to the terrors of God’s holy and righteous but broken law, without God and without hope in the world, we began to unfold the wonderful grace of God and as he eagerly reached out te grasp that sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, we saw him firmly resting in the finished work of Christ, and felt like singing, •“I’ve anchored my soul in that haven of rest, ‘ I’ll sail the wide seas no more, The tempest may sweep o’er the wild stormy deep In Jesus I’m safe evefmore.” We can’t forget that puzzled look which accompanied the query, “Why is it that no one ever spoke to me of this beforehand why don’t they preach this in the church in which I was brought up?” and as we armed him with Gospel and tracts, he started out with a bright-- ness never known before, to tell his friends and reach his 'chums and seek to lead them to the Saviour hp had found.

songs and dances give me',a positive nau sea and recall too vividly the old sinful life, so I am gradually changing them. Would you like to hear my latest?” As we listened to the chorus of the well- known hymn, “He Walks With Me and He Talks With Me,” we felt the hush of the Holy Spirit who had come to live in that home, and realized that even the phonograph was converted. How many homes there are that need, to change their signals, so that the whole atmsophere and surroundings may speak louder than words, “The Lord is here.” Christ Oui- Passover During Easter week a Bible woman called on a dear one who had for many years been the subject of prayer and who had been earnestly dealt with con cerning'eternal things. Never had there seemed to be any response, but, rather, an antagonistic attitude. In answer to an earnest prayer for guidance and perfect submission to- be used of God as He directed, an invitation was accepted to spend the afternoon out of doors. As they were passing through the streets the'unsaved one said, “Is it not strange that the Jews should be hav ing religious services this week? I thought Easter was for Christians.” Then was the opening made of God, and beginning with the Passover lamb of Ex odus twelve, Christ our Passover was re vealed, the gripping thought being that He was crucified at the appointed time for the offering of the Paschal lamb, and rose, on the Feast of First Fruits. May the confession of Christ really mean,* 3 - ; crucified with Christ, our Passover, to live in newness of life with Christ, the first fruits from the dead! ^1^.- ‘ ■ h : a» BIOLA HALL WORK David Cant, Supt. “And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in the land and he began to be in want.” This experience has been the lot of contless numbers of people since the parable of the lost son recorded in Luke’s Gospel, notably so among those who during the past month have been attracted to Biola Hall be cause of their deep need; and we have had much occasion to rejoice in seeing the dead live again and the lost found, but don’t think that only human derelicts drift into Biola Hall. Of course, we have this class, and of late there have
