Crowther is very goal-oriented, and qualifying for the Wrangler NFR has always been a ‘bucket-list’ item for her. After she lost her prized mare Lexus in 2008 when she was sitting so high in the standings, the desire to qualify never left her mind. She elected to give it another shot, this time aboard Sissy. Crowther left Florida on May 25, 2022 and has been on the road ever since. She was second in Casper, Wyoming and second in Salinas, California. Then it all came together with her first win of the season in Caldwell, Idaho. The win was very motivating for Crowther. “All the time I’ve been out here, the sacrifices I’ve made, leaving the kids home and the sacrifices my family has done putting their lives on hold to help me makes this win extra special,” she said. As of press time, Crowther is sitting in the top 15. Qualifying for the Wrangler NFR would be “a dream come true. I’ve always [aspired to] qualify. I feel like if I don’t, I’ve already had a lot of successes this summer. I feel like something always happens mid-July and I make my way home, so to be this far in the season and still be in the top is a success of its own… I can’t hardly move on without checking the NFR off my list; qualifying would be very fulfilling,” she said.
