FALLBROOK, CALIFORNIA

Congratulations to the 159 AIS member artists who were juried into our 9th Annual Impressions: Small Works Showcase . AIS received 1,516 entries.

Fallbrook Art Center Fallbrook, CA February 14 - March 29, 2025

The exhibition also features the artwork of AIS Masters, Officers and Board Members.

Submitted work is reviewed by a panel of highly qualified, nationally recognized master and/or signature level artists , using a “blind jury” process where the juror does not know the identity of the artists. The jurors do not know the identity of the other jurors. Each juror assigns a score from one (low) to ten (high) to each painting entered, based on technical mastery (composition, design, value, drawing, edges, etc) and impressionistic in style. Points are tabulated revealing the highest scoring paintings. The American Impressionist Society believes this method of selection is the most fair and unbiased jurying method currently available. The accepted works are then reviewed and selected for awards by our exhibition Awards Judge.

AIS offers our members opportunities to advance their art practice with exhibitions, workshops, critiques, networking, panel discussions, lectures, and paintouts. AIS partners with galleries and arts organizations to present our National and Small Works Showcase each year in dynamic communities across the United States. In 2020 we launched our first Online Exhibition and in 2021 our first Associate Member Online Exhibition. Annually, AIS offers four juried exhibitions.

American Impressionist Society, also known as AIS, was founded in 1998 by four Florida artists in honor of their mentor, William Schultz. Thanks to the vision of Charlotte M. Dickinson, Marjorie I. Bradley, Pauline S. Ney and William Schultz, AIS has grown to be one of the most respected national art organizations in the country, with 2,400 active members nationwide.

AWARDS JUDGE and Workshop Instructor Peggi Kroll Roberts AISM

Peggi specializes in utilizing bold brush strokes and colors, while capturing a scene’s essential values, qualities, light and colors, and the contrasts between them. Focusing on capturing images as the mind sees them rather than the eye, Peggi’s primary influences have been abstract impressionist painters such as David Park and Elmer Bischoff. She is noted for her beach scenes, which have in part been inspired by watching her children. Prior to launching her fine art career along with her husband, Peggi worked as an illustrator in the fashion and advertising industries. Born and raised in Arizona, she attended Arizona State University before relocating to California and attending the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, where she and Ray met. Peggi has won many awards and has been featured in both museums and several publications such as Southwest Art and the Western Art Collector. She is a member of the California Art Club and the American Impressionist Society. Peggi and Ray share a studio in their ranch in Angel’s Camp, California, where they continue their painting careers. Both have a fierce love of teaching, conducting both online and live workshops, and enjoy the interaction between student and teacher.

Memberships are open to artists working in the style of Impressionism who are legal United States residents.

Membership Dues are $65 Annually for the period January through December. Renewals/New Memberships paid on or after October 25th will be valid through December 31st the following year.
