Corrugated Veteran Ernie Moon Passes Away At 78 Ernest L. “Ernie” Moon, a beloved father, grandfather, ded- icated professional and friend, passed away on December 22, 2024, at the age of 78, surrounded by the love of his

enjoying lunch with his closest friends, a testament to his sociable nature and dedication to maintaining meaningful relationships. Ernie dedicated over 15 years to the Willow Springs Li- ons Club, where he was known for his passion and com- mitment, particularly as the Diabetes Coordinator. His ser- vice extended to his roles on the Justice Willow Springs Water Commission and the Pleasantdale Park District Board, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the betterment of his community. AF&PA Releases November 2024 Packaging Papers Monthly Report The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) re- leased the November 2024 Packaging Papers Monthly report. Total packaging papers and specialty packaging shipments in November increased 9 percent compared to November 2023. They were up 11 percent when com- pared to the same 11 months of 2023. The operating rate for bleached packaging papers was 75.9 percent, up 4.8 points from November 2023 and up 6.7 points year-to-date. Shipments of the biggest subgrade in unbleached packaging papers – bag & sack – were 97,200 short tons for the month of November, up 2.6 percent from the same month last year and up 16.6 percent year-to-date.

Ernie was a family-oriented individual who cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He will be remem- bered for his joyful spirit and the warmth he brought to ev- ery gathering. Ernie’s fondest memories included delight- ful afternoons in Florida, where he and his beloved, late spouse, Gloria, would share laughter while watching the sunsets on the beach.
