CITY NEWS

City of Pearland Receives Top Workplaces Award

The City of Pearland has received a Top Workplaces of 2023 USA award from Energage, a leading research firm that specializes in employee engagement and workplace culture. This year, Energage invited 42,000 organizations to partici - pate in its annual Top Workplaces USA survey. This award is based on the results of an anonymous survey of the City's employees, who provided feedback on various aspects of their workplace, such as leadership, benefits and overall job satisfaction. As always, the City is greatly honored to be recognized for its commitment to its employees and their well-being. Receiving a Top Workplaces award from Energage further reinforces the City's reputation as being a favorable place to work and live and acknowledges its ongoing efforts to provide top-notch services and support to its residents and community.

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.” The City of Pearland's 850-plus employees are dedicated to making a positive impact on the community, and the recognition from Energage stands as a testament to such commitments. The City is proud to have a team of dedicated and hardworking employees who help make Pearland a great place to call home. The City will continue to strive for excel- lence and provide residents with the highest level of service and support.

Produced by the City’s Communications Department, the podcast is hosted by Director of Communications Joshua Lee and Assistant Director Joe Calderon. They converse with City of Pearland subject matter experts on various topics, including emergency response, parks and recreation, infrastructure, development, and more. The podcast explores job duties, professional and personal backgrounds, and what motivates public servants in their day-to-day work as they continue to make Pearland ”The Community of Choice.” The podcast offers listeners the opportunity to learn more about the public servants that make up the City of Pearland professional organization, as well as each of the departments that provide services to Pearland. Meredith Jaso, Public Information Officer for the Pearland Police Department, was the podcast series's first guest. Jaso’s episode was followed by ones featuring Dante Prescod, Right of Way Superinten- dent for Pearland Engineering and Public Works, and Erin Coleman, Records Manager for the Pearland Police Department.

On January 4, the City of Pearland launched The People of Pearland, a podcast series that takes a look at the many personalities of the professional staff that make up the City organization.

The People of Pearland podcast releases episodes monthly. It is available on Spotify and Apple, and can also be accessed by visiting pearlandtx.gov/popp.
