MERMAID UNIVERSITY Calling all Mermen, Mermaids, and Merfolk! Come join us in learning how to safely swim with a tail. We provide different- colored tails in all sizes. Participants get certified and will receive a card that will allow them to continue using the tail whenever they may like when visiting the pool. Families are highly encouraged to participate together! June 24, July 15 and Aug. 5 / 1 - 2:30 p.m. $45 6+ years RCN JUNIOR LIFEGUARD CLASS Ever wanted to know what it’s like to be a lifeguard but are too young to get certified? Now’s your chance to become a Junior Lifeguard! Learn how to work as a team and how to recognize a victim, plus shadow actual lifeguards. There will be classroom training as well as in-water skills practice. June 12 – 23; July 10 – 21 / 1 – 4 p.m. $75 11 – 14 years RCN
ADULT LESSONS Designed to develop confidence and basic skills in the adult swimmer and geared toward the needs of the class. Comfort and flotation in the water, basic survival, front crawl, back crawl, treading water and basic water safety are just a few of the skills taught. Classes consist of eight (8) 45-minute lessons; four (4) days a week for two (2) weeks. Mon. – Thur. / 11 a.m.; 7 p.m. $75 resident / $93.75 non–resident 16+ years RCN PADDLE PEARLAND – INTRO TO KAYAKING Want to try your hand at kayaking? Drop in and use our equipment and pool! Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome. For those too young to paddle themselves, staff will tow the kayak along the pool wall. All participants must SWIM TEST Need to know what swim lesson level to enroll your child in? Need a specific swim card to go to camp? Each participant will be evaluated based on the American Red Cross Learn-to- Swim exit skills assessments for the level being tested. The highest-level certificate will be awarded upon successful completion. After this test, participants will be grouped and tested for specific swim skills required by various camps. A ug. 5 and 9 / 11 a.m. $10 4+ years RCN FLOAT ‘N FLICK You’ve all heard of drive-in movies; now it’s time to introduce you to our dive-in movies: Float ‘n Flick! Come join us for an evening in the pool watching movies on our big screen. We will provide floats for participants to relax in. Please note that only 50 tickets are available per film. Every member of a family must purchase one to come in. July 8 and Aug. 19 / 6:15 p.m. Movies: July - “Lilo and Stitch”; August - “The Goonies” $5 per person All ages RCN wear a lifejacket, which is provided on site.
