LIMA UMADAOP: Our Philosophy, Our Mission & Our Purpose
Our Philosophy UMADAOP provides programming with the be- lief that substance abuse is best prevented and treated when the cultural dynamics of a group are addressed and included in the process of preven- tion, treatment recovery and education. Chemical dependency is viewed as an illness of the total person, which has physiological, psychological, social-cultural and spiritual components that re- quire a holistic approach. Our Mission At Lima UMADAOP, our mission is to create a saf- er and healthier community by reducing the inci- dence and prevalence of violence, poly substance use/abuse, and the negative effects they impose on at-risk individuals and families. We are com- mitted to implementing evidence-based strate- gies that prioritize harm reduction and well-being. Through our dedicated efforts, we strive to pro- vide a nonjudgmental and supportive environment where individuals and families facing vulnerabili- ties can find resources, education, and assistance tailored to their unique needs. Our harm reduction approach is rooted in compassion, understand- ing, and the belief that every step towards positive change matters.

adult treatment Addiction is a Treatable Disorder Addiction is a complex disorder that affects millions of individuals worldwide. It impacts not only the person struggling with addiction but also their loved ones. Fortunately, there are effective treatment op- tions available to help individuals overcome addiction and achieve lasting recovery. Our comprehensive range of services is designed to address the diverse needs of individuals seeking help for substance abuse disorders.
Screening: Determining the Severity of Substance Use Before commencing any treat- ment, it is crucial to assess the severity of substance use and identify the appropriate lev- el of care. All participants in our program will undergo a Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (S-Birt) screening. This screen- ing helps our experienced pro- fessionals determine the level of treatment required based on medical and psychologi- cal conditions. It ensures that individuals receive the right support to begin their recovery journey, prevent relapse, and improve their chances of sus- tained sobriety. Inpatient Services: Providing Intensive Rehab Support For individuals with a high po- tential for relapse or those re- quiring a higher level of care, our inpatient services offer in-
tensive rehabilitation support. Inpatient treatment, also known as residential treatment, pro- vides a structured environment where clients can focus solely on their recovery. Our program is specifically tailored for clients diagnosed with alcohol or drug addiction, aiming to provide the highest level of rehab services. Remarkably, over 70% of our housing graduates continue to maintain sobriety, secure gain- ful employment, and live inde- pendently in the community. Outpatient Services: Structured Care for Continuing Recovery Our outpatient services consist of two programs: the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and the Non-Intensive Outpatient Program (NIOP). These pro- grams offer a structured and supportive environment for adults with substance abuse dis- orders. Participants receive in- dividual and group sessions that
provide information, assistance, support, and motivation to main- tain abstinence from alcohol and other drugs. The IOP is a 13-week program that requires a minimum of 9 hours per week, with services provided at least 3 to 4 days per week. On the other hand, the NIOP is also a 13-week program but requires a minimum of 6 hours per week, with services provided at least 2 days per week. Both programs are designed to meet the unique needs of indi- viduals seeking flexible treatment options while maintaining their daily responsibilities. Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT): A Holistic Approach Research has shown that a combi- nation of medication, counseling, and behavioral therapies is highly effective in treating substance use disorders. Our Medicated Assist- ed Treatment (MAT) program
Additional Services: A Comprehensive Approach Our comprehensive range of services extends beyond the core treatment programs. We offer a variety of additional services designed to address the individual needs of our cli- ents: Individual/Group Counseling: Clients have the opportuni- ty to meet individually and in group settings with licensed treatment professionals. MAT has proven successful in helping individuals manage cravings, reduce withdrawal symptoms, and maintain long- term sobriety. Recovery Support: Enhancing Treatment Techniques In addition to evidence-based treatment techniques, we also offer recovery support services to enhance and complement the re- covery journey. Recovery-oriented care and support systems play a crucial role in help- ing individuals with mental and substance use disorders successfully manage their con- ditions.
