LIMA UMADAOP: Our Philosophy, Our Mission & Our Purpose
Our Philosophy UMADAOP provides programming with the be- lief that substance abuse is best prevented and treated when the cultural dynamics of a group are addressed and included in the process of preven- tion, treatment recovery and education. Chemical dependency is viewed as an illness of the total person, which has physiological, psychological, social-cultural and spiritual components that re- quire a holistic approach. Our Mission At Lima UMADAOP, our mission is to create a saf- er and healthier community by reducing the inci- dence and prevalence of violence, poly substance use/abuse, and the negative effects they impose on at-risk individuals and families. We are com- mitted to implementing evidence-based strate- gies that prioritize harm reduction and well-being. Through our dedicated efforts, we strive to pro- vide a nonjudgmental and supportive environment where individuals and families facing vulnerabili- ties can find resources, education, and assistance tailored to their unique needs. Our harm reduction approach is rooted in compassion, understand- ing, and the belief that every step towards positive change matters.
