PreK On My Way: Literacy
Phonological awareness and alphabet knowledge are two of the most important predictors of reading achievement. To ensure early learners master these foundational skills, Scholastic and Dr. Linda C. Mayes of the Yale Child Study Center created PreK On My Way: Literacy. This fun program uses daily lessons and activities to systematically introduce students to each letter and its corresponding sounds .
outcomes ⊲ Students master all 26 letters of the alphabet with fun small-group activities that revisit each letter multiple times and focus on letter names, sounds, and formations. ⊲ Early learners develop phonological awareness skills with read-aloud books for each letter of the alphabet and activities on initial sounds, ending sounds, and onset and rime. ⊲ Educators drive reading achievement with evidence-based instructional strategies and a year’s worth of daily lessons and activities that align with your curriculum and support whole-class, small-group, and independent learning.
