Last month, the AGC of Utah hosted it’s first annual "Build the World" Girls Construction Camp in Salt Lake City and St. George, an inspiring and educational event designed to introduce young women to the dynamic world of construction.
The camp aimed to break stereotypes and empower young girls by providing hands-on construction experiences. Participants engaged in various activities that showcased different aspects of the construction industry, including carpentry, welding, and more. Students worked with tools, learned about safety protocols and were taught the importance of teamwork and precision.

One of the camp's highlights was the mentorship provided by experienced female professionals in the construction industry. These mentors not only taught practical skills but also shared their personal journeys, challenges, and triumphs, offering insights and inspiration to the young participants. The girls had the chance to ask questions, seek advice, and gain a deeper understanding of the possibilities within the field of construction.
The "Build the World" Girls Construction Camp was a resounding success, demonstrating the potential and enthusiasm of young women eager to make their mark in construction. AGC of Utah remains committed to developing the industry’s future workforce and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to build their future.
