PGSF Accepting Scholarship Applications The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) is accepting scholarship applications for the 2024–2025 academic year. PGSF provides scholar- ships to individuals interested in an education and a career in the graphic communications industry. The 2024–2025 scholarship application period runs from November 1, 2023, to May 1, 2024. The online application can be found under the student’s tab at pgsf.org . The Scholarship Foundation has granted more than $550,000 scholarships for the 2023-2024 year to more than 180 students attending techni- cal schools, colleges, and universities in the United States PGSF’s goal is to attract individuals to the graphic communications industry and to inform them of the wide variety of career opportunities available. The organization awards scholarships to high school seniors or students already enrolled in a post-sec- ondary program, as well as to individuals who are currently employed by a graphic communications company and are seeking additional education. This is the fifth consecutive year that PGSF is of- fering scholarships to part-time students. Esko Releases New Software Update Esko has made its software version 23.11 avail- able for all customers, with a live webinar planned for 13 November providing a detailed look at each of the new tools and additional functions. These reportedly include: • Safe plate output in Automation Engine • Even stronger Automation Engine integration with Share & Approve, the cloud native service that enables users to connect their prepress to custom- ers and stakeholders from their artwork editor ap- plications • Greater efficiency with Cape Pack pallet optimi- zation for folding cartons, and sharing with Share & Approve • New tools in ArtiosCAD to automatically recog- nize copy-free areas of designs when folded in 3D, and predefined folders • Further improvements to prepress task automa- tion in ArtPro+, plus additional new features such as including non-active fonts when recognizing text The new Esko Release 23.11 will be formally launched at a live webinar event on Thursday, No- vember 13.
