And it evidently affected two young male sea lions who decided to pick a fight with one another while we watched. The latecomer to the beach actually routed the more established fellow off the beach & into the surf! A few feet more along our hike revealed to us that the real “beachmaster” was not involved in that juvenile tussle.
Streaming out from the beach above the tide line were runners of beach morning glory that could even crawl over the lava platforms. Our naturalist, Elizabeth, told us that its blooms are a deep purple (probably like our own) but we never saw one at this season. This last photo hike was a lovely way to end our delicious Galapagos experience and the scenery and the animals provided an excellent recapitulation of the wonders of the trip!
