An enrollment fee o f $5.00 is required o f each delegate to help defray the expenses o f the Conference. The usual railroad rate o f one and a third fare for the round trip has been granted. Detailed information cap be secured from the nearest railroad agent, from your Mission Board officers in San Francisco or Los Angeles, or by addressing the offices of the Movement. Board and room for the ten day period will cost $12.50 per person, with two per­ sons in a room (separate beds), or $15.00 where one person occupies a room alone. South America’s Need J AMES HALDANE, o f the Evangelical Union o f South America, Pernambuco, Brazil, reports a proclamation issued by a Roman Catholic priest, Fr. Lucas Vonegut, O: F. M., curator of Olinda, under the head, “Urgent Warning to My Parishioners :—New Sect—Catholics o f Olinda, Look Out.” Brazil surely needs the Gospel. The proclamation is as follows: ' “A great peril has come upon u s! Until now the Catholics o f this city lived in peace. Now, however, disorder has come! apostasy has com e! disturbances have com e! Intruders, called by no one except their own mad fanaticism, have come among the peaceful dwellers in Olinda. “And what does this sect want here? It wants to disturb the good religious order; it wants to rob you, oh, Catholics, o f the treasure o f the Catholic faith; it wishes 'to make you apostates from the. only ark of salvation, which is the Catholic Church, the tender mother that carried your grandfathers and great grandfathers by

mile from Pacific Grove, and five milea from Del Monte. The place is interesting for its mighty surf, expanse o f beach, sand dunes, pine forests, wild flowers and the proximity o f “ The Seventeen Mile Drive.” The Asilomar Conference is held for the purpose o f improving the missionary effi­ ciency o f workers in the Church, Sunday School and Young People’s Societies. The Conference combines the > features of instruction, inspiration and recreation. Pas­ tors, Sunday School workers, leaders in missionary organizations, and all who are interested in the advance work o f the church will find the Conference most helpful. The program for 1916 is arranged with a view to'preparing workers for participation in the united program o f missionary educa­ tion which all the Mission Boards o f the United States and Canada have adopted for 1916-17. The theme o f this unified program is: “ The Two Americas,” and the new books are now in preparation to be used in all the Summer Conferences of 1916. Among the features o f the program are normal mission study groups, classes and conferences for teachers o f the vari­ ous ages and grades in the Sunday School and other church organizations, open parliaments, platform addresses, vesper services, and denominational group meet­ ings, with ample time for recreation and social intercourse. Among the speakers secured for this year are the Rev. J. A. Francis, D. D., Rev. Wm. Horace Day, D. D., and Bishop W. R. Lambuth. The Mission Study leaders will be Mr. M. W . Ehnes and Mr. B. C. Millikin o f New York, Prof. C. C. McCown, formerly o f India; Rev. L. B. Hillis, formerly o f the Philippines; Rev. V. M. McCombs, formerly o f South America; Rev. J. C. Worley, formerly o f Japan; Mrs. A. Rosenberger, formerly o f Palestine; Miss Crosby o f New York, and Mrs. Paul Raymond o f San Francisco. In the Sunday School department will be Miss Rose Scott, Miss Caroline Fielder and Miss Meme Brockway. Mr. Geo. C.
