Mark 15.47; Luke 24:22. May Lydia have been a proselyte? Acts 6:5 (1. c.). What is the Lord’s purpose in reaching the hearts o f men? Psa. 119:18; Luke 24:45. Who hinders men from seeing the truth o f God’s W ord? 2 Cor. 4:4. What evidence do believers give o f their conversion? Acts 8:12. Were their households baptized? Acts 16:33. Is hospitality another evidence o f con­ version? Rom. 12:13; Titus 1:8. No man is,greater than his vision o f the ' possible.

PRACTICAL POINTS (1) The Holy Spirit both constrains and restrains. (2) The leading o f the Spirit will be into lanes o f service. (3) W e need Spirit-touched eyes to see the man ; we need Spirit-touched ears to hear his cry; we need Spirit- touched hearts to respond. (4) There’ is a distinction between the con­ ditions o f salvation and the qualifica­ tion for. service. (5) Divisions are often used o f God for the multiplication o f service. ( 6 ) There is danger in the delay o f duty. Always make hastë to do a hard task. (7) There may be tremendous significance in a seemingly insignificant gather­ ing.

he. can be rèstored. Thè restoring is to be done by those who “are spiritual,” i. e., by those who are guided and governed by the Spirit (cf. ch. 5:16-25). People who think they are spiritual should prove that they are really “ spiritual” not by casting an err­ ing brother off or trampling him down, but by restoring him. Evidently Paul’s stand­ ard o f spirituality differed widely from that o f many in our churches today, who are
