(3) The grace o f God in giving His Son? John 3:16; 1 Peter 2:24. (4) The justifying grace o f God? Rom. 4:25. (5) His intercession at God’s right hand ? Rom. 8 :26. J 6 ) His glorious coming again? 1 Thess. 4:14-18. What kind o f faith is counted for right­ eousness? Rom. 4:4, 5. What evidence had the jailer given o f his being born again? Gal. 5:6. Did Paul believe in household baptism? 1 Cor. 1 :16.

What could the jailer and his family now say ? 1 Peter 1 : 6 - 8 . PRACTICAL PO INTS (1) Some demons are wiser than some college professors, for they testify to the truth. (2) To keep out the demons, be filled with the Spirit. (3) The voice o f the '-people is not the voice o f God. (4) A bleeding back may be a badge o f honor. (5.) The paeans o f praise are a power even in a prison. Praise the Lord! ( 6 ) An old-fashioned revival would shake the shackles from many a sinner. (7) Faith is believing in the finished work which God hath wrought •through Jesus Christ, our Lord. ( 8 ) Faith is manifested in work. The sin­ ner soon becomes a serving saint.

EXPOSIT ION AND PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS

The lessons of this quarter extend over a period of. perhaps fifteen years, from A. D. 37 to A. D. 52.. The two central figures in the narrative are Paul and Peter, but the real worker is Jesus Christ. All the lessons are concerned with the things that Jesus Himself continued to do after His resurrection^ by the power of the Holy Spirit working through His disciples (cf. ch. 1 : 1 ).

In Lesson I, (Acts 9:1-31) we see the Risen Christ appearing bodily to the Apos­ tle Paul, his most bitter and dangerous enemy, and overwhelming him with the glory o f His Person. In. Lesson II, (Acts 9:32-43) we see the Risen Christ healing the sick and raising the dead. In Lesson III,' (Acts 10:1-23) we see the Risen Christ calling Cornelius to Him-
