WHAT OUR COMMUN I T Y MEAN S TO U S GOALS AND DEDICATION IN 2019

2018 was an excellent year for us here at US Solar, and next year is looking even better. Our goal for the new year is to reach out to as many potential Solar customers as possible. That way, we can spread the word of how vital efficient, clean energy is and how it impacts our community and the rest of Earth. This past year, we focused a lot of our energy on growth, doing as much as we could to ensure that our customers were well taken care of. As the head of US Solar, I want to continue reaching out to the community to increase awareness that people can choose to have clean energy. My philosophy is to have an impact on the people around me and encourage them to be confident in these decisions that significantly affect them and everyone around them. My biggest pleasure working in my business is watching people learn about these options, hone their personal life skills, and grow into amazing people. I’ve come across many individuals who don’t believe in themselves, and I strive to change that. I enjoy helping people build on the belief they have in themselves and their confidence in the choices they make. Each one of my team members ventures to do the same. Our staff is comprised of elite individuals who are eager to take up their role in our never-ending contribution to the world in which we live. As a team, we enthusiastically do our part to make the world a better place. Having our wonderful customers understand our philosophy and be just as excited to achieve these goals as we are is an incredible feeling. Motivating people is something I aim to do every day at work. I enjoy encouraging my team and our clients to stand up for what each of them wants and believes in. I know that people have the potential to achieve

“THE PEOPLE WE WORK WITH WANT TO DO THEIR PART TO MAKE THE WORLD A BRIGHTER PLACE, AND WE’RE HONORED TO LEND A HELPING HAND.”

so much in life with even the smallest of encouragements, which is what I would love to see more of in 2019. When people can look deep inside themselves and see what capabilities they have, many possibilities open up for them. We can provide opportunities to help them achieve their potential. The coolest thing about US Solar is that we continue to provide the community with a vehicle for people to provide for their families. For me, this is one of the most important parts of my business. Over the past year, as we grow as a company and team, our most significant shift has been changing the way we see our competitors. This last year was very competitive within the solar business, and we chose to approach it in a different way than many others did. Instead of focusing on going up against the competition and trying to bring them down, our attention is on the customer. By shifting our view, it frees us up to give the best service we can to our customers, and it’s all about our customers. Providing top-notch customer service not only benefits our customers, but it also allows us to interact more with our community and make positive changes every day. The people we work with want to do their part to make the world a brighter place, and we’re honored to lend a helping hand.

S URV I V I NG T H E S EASON OF SWEETS HOW TO I NDU LGE YOUR SWE E T TOOT H W I T H L E S S S UGAR Cookies, cakes, and pies, oh my! The holiday season is brimming with sweet treats of all kinds. Sometimes it can feel like candy and sugary desserts are around every corner, and yet you still want to indulge. However, when you consider that over 50 percent of Americans are insulin-resistant, prediabetic, or diabetic, that piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream starts to look more dangerous than appetizing. During the holidays, how can you satisfy your sweet tooth without worrying about consuming excessive sugar and calories? Skip the candy and go for the fruits and nuts. Keeping a bowl of fruit and nuts nearby can help keep sugar cravings at bay. Dried fruits, such as cranberries, pineapple, or apricots, are both sweet and nutritious. Just be sure to check the packaging for added sugars. You can even make your own dried fruit with a food dehydrator. This way, you are completely in control of the ingredients. No matter what you do, just be mindful not to overindulge. Dried fruit is high in sugar and calories, but the fiber and vitamins make fruit much healthier than just about any other sugary treat. Another way to cut down on your sugar intake is to use dark chocolate in all your chocolate-based treats. Dark chocolate has about half as much sugar as milk chocolate, twice as much healthy fat, less cholesterol, 4–5 times more iron, twice as much potassium, fewer carbs, and more flavonoids and theobromine. The antioxidant properties of the theobromine and flavonoids make dark chocolate as good for your heart as it is for your soul. If you have a recipe that calls for chocolate, reach for the dark stuff, whether it’s dark chocolate chips, cocoa powder, or baking chocolate. While it may seem as though everyone and their grandma is overindulging in sugar this season, know that you have the choice to opt for healthier sweets. And come New Year’s, you won’t have to spend the first few months of 2019 working off that extra cookie weight.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR KIND WORDS!

“After researching it for a while, it sounded like an interesting thing, and then one of the sales personnel came through and talked

more in depth about it, and I understood it more. Also, we’ve got a lot of sunshine here; why not let the sun do some of the work for us? The whole process was very easy. We qualified, and we didn’t have to put any money out. That was a selling point. Thank you, US Solar!” –Nancy Poole

“Seann came out, and he sat down with me. We went over the utility bills, how much I’m consuming, and what

he could put on top of the roof. And it just kind of went from there. It’s pretty easy to do the numbers, and honestly, there is

no real sales pitch because the product sells itself. The numbers are going to do all the work for you. When you put it all together, it’s kind of a no-brainer.” – Jason

EXPERI ENCE BEATS SEARCH RESULTS

K N O W W H A T T O L O O K F O R

Given today’s abundance of technology, most people head to Google to search for a service. Everyone wants the best of the best, and that includes solar energy. We find that most people who consider switching to solar energy start their search online. However, if someone were to go on Google and search “solar energy Florida,” over 2 million websites will appear. When there are so many options to choose from, how do you know which is the perfect fit for what you need? Trying to siphon through the millions of results is an extremely frustrating ordeal, and it’s one we’re not immune to. The people of US Solar are consumers just like you, and we know exactly what it’s like to be homeowners in search of solutions. We understand needing information and coming face to face with advertisements instead. More than 80 percent of sites that appear in a Google search focus on selling a specific product or service — but we want answers, not products!

firsthand, genuine experience. Often, that’s why people ask friends or family to point them in the right direction. You want a professional who is knowledgeable about your area and your energy needs. This requires having a conversation with a local company — one who has their boots on the ground working in your area every day. You want a company made up of people who live and work where you do and have intimate knowledge of suffering under the monopoly of power companies. You want to find someone who knows the ins and outs of the business because they live it daily and because they’ve already done the research and have experience working in your neighborhood.

Experience is something you recognize when you talk to real people. It’s a trust you can identify. At US Solar, we are proud to offer our services to you and your neighbors while understanding your unique situation and offering the perfect custom solution for you and your home.

What should you be looking for in all of these results? The answer is experience. Information you find online is no substitute for

CHRISTMAS TOURS GET AWAY AND BE FESTIVE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

RANCH CHRISTMAS IN JACKSON, WYOMING Jackson, Wyoming, takes its frontier culture to the next level during the Christmas season. All year, the city proudly displays four elk antler arches, but around the holidays, they are lit up with white string lights and flanked by snow. The Christmas decorations and lights surrounding the archway make for a Western- themed holiday pulled right out of a John Wayne classic. For holiday admirers looking for a unique spin, Jackson has you covered. YEARLY YULETIDE IN SANTA CLAUS, INDIANA This one’s for the Christmas lover. If you can’t make it out to Santa Claus, Indiana, this holiday season, you can still celebrate Christmas in this tiny Midwestern town in January, June, or even October. Embracing its unique name, the town boasts a museum, holiday shopping center, and a Christmas theme park. In a moving tribute, the town’s residents also write responses to children’s letters to Kris Kringle himself. It’s impossible to avoid holiday cheer in this town. DISNEY WORLD’S CHRISTMAS MAGIC What better place to celebrate the most magical time of the year than in the most magical place on Earth? Walt Disney World’s halls are decked to the max with a parade, gingerbread homes, strings of lights, and festive parties. Plus, costs to visit Disney World can be cheaper during the Christmas season, so keep an eye out for a vacation steal.

There’s nothing quite like the magical lights of the holiday season, and some destinations in the U.S. have perfected the craft of holiday decoration. If you’re looking to get away this December and still engage in seasonal festivities, add one of these places to your must-visit list.

NEW YORK CITY’S ROCKEFELLER

CENTER New York City is an iconic location for Christmastime. The scene is like

a Hallmark card: Ice-skating lovers whiz past miles of twinkling lights underneath an exceptionally tall and amply decorated tree. The tree is specially selected by Rockefeller Center’s

landscaping crews, who scout out trees years in advance. It remains lit from November to early January, so you have plenty of time to check it out.
