Widow or Widower: Age 60 or older (50 if dis- abled), or any age if caring for an entitled child under 16 or disabled. Divorced Widow or Widower: Age 60 or older (50 if disabled) if the marriage lasted at least 10 years, or if caring for an entitled child under 16 or disabled. Unmarried Children: Up to 18 years old (or 19 if attending primary or secondary school full- time). Disabled Children: Those disabled before turning 22 and remained disabled. Dependent Parent or Parents: Age 62 or older. Lump-Sum Death Payment In addition to the monthly cash benefits, a one- time lump-sum death payment (LSDP) of $255 is available to eligible individuals. The LSDP is disbursed in the following order of priority: Surviving Spouse: Who resided in the same household as the deceased at the time of death. Eligible Surviving Spouse: Entitled to benefits for the month of death. Children: Eligible for benefits for the month of death.
