ucked in the industrial park between Routes 512 and 191 is Piramal Critical Care, a manufactur- er of anesthesia. Currently, their facility is over 25,000 s/f including a state-of-art automated packaging line, stability chambers and a large warehouse. Functioning 24/7, the facility plays a major role in the sale and distribution of drugs to over 120 countries. Like many companies in the health care and pharmaceu- tical industries, Piramal has been growing. Since 2010, Piramal has invested over $10 million in their Bethle- hem facilities, and they con- tinue to grow with plans to lease another building at 268 Brodhead Rd. in Bethlehem. The new site will become the United States Headquarters for Piramal Critical Care. The expansion into the ad- jacent real estate across Brod- head Rd. will allow operations to continue in the same area, but the new space will require extensive interior renova- tions. Originally built in the early 1990s, the property is confining, dark and has an obsolete layout. “The work en- vironment has trans/formed so much in the past 20 years,” said Les McCoy president of DesignPoint. “For example, natural light was mostly cap- tured by executive offices. Piramal has been a great partner in letting us help them design a transformation of an outdated interior to an open and collaborative space that will meet their corporate identity”. Piramal will have a new re- ception area, executive board- room, and ancillary meeting rooms. The renovated space will be state-of-the-art and offer modern amenities that appeal to younger workers including a new café, exercise room with lockers, lounge space with ping pong tables, fireplace and casual areas for collaboration. DesignPoint is managing the interior design and space planning that will incorporate a complete new LED lighting system and acoustic management for the open floor plan. Assisting McCoy on the project is interior design as- sociate Jennifer Fronheiser who noted, “Piramal is open to a unique design approach. Using their headquarters in Kurla, India as inspiration,
for client engagement and employee productivity. Over the next few months, Design- Point will be highlighting a few client stories that will provide insight into how top executives work. The stories exemplify how to strategi- cally inject best practices for space planning, layouts, and interior design for success/ful businesses.
