Edison, New Jersey is noted for its highly rated LouCas Italian Seafood Restaurant and many other notable food establishments including Meemah Chinese Restaurant and Brooklyn Boys Pizza serv- ing up the areas best pizza and many highly respected medical practitioners who serve the residents living in nearby Metuchen as well as Edison Township however, if “there is one unique and distinguishing factor that sets Colonial Village apart from other neighborhood of- fices and retail shops” said property owner, Jaime M. Weiss, “it’s Women Owned Businesses.” The numerous women owned businesses located here serve the area offering great shopping, pro- fessional services, fine dining and more. Matthew Weiss, vice presi- dent of Weiss Realty, the center’s leasing and manag- ing agent, also has taken notice of the women who own and manage retail establish- ments and other professional and medical services that are part of the excitement hap- pening here at Colonial Vil- lage. Some of the women are collaborating and supporting each other. “It’s nice to see” commented Matthew. “While some companies and retail establishments are trying to improve women’s odds in launching new business, it just happens that Colonial Village has been the incubator for women run business.” Last year the Weiss firm oversaw the lease renewal of LouCas Italian Seafood, the highly rated Zagat restaurant with private dining rooms and a separate banquet facil- ity that is managed by Dina Charalambous and Danielle Sofocli and the establish- ment of Kennedy Pharmacy, an independently owned and community minded pharmacy managed by Sonal that serves

Golden Point Acupuncture, owned by Amy Yip, a board certified acupuncturist and Leading Rehabilitation, a top notch physical therapy prac- tice leased 1,734 s/f owned by Donna Mammano and Avnee Patel. These new tenants join a list of medical office, professional and retail tenants including Bernstein’s Fashions, where owner, AnneWeiner offers the latest array of bridal dresses, gowns, and formal wear. Anne and her family have been dressing women for over 60 years and said, “our location here at Colonial Village is a match made in heaven and there’s great synergy with the other women run business.”

Lingerie by Susan owned by Susan Barnes commented as well that “all the businesses benefit and compliment each other here at Colonial Vil- lage.” Lookin Good Day Spa, a full service day spa for men and women, Vogue Nails, and Skin by Nicole, owned and managed by Nicole Corbin are also located at Colonial Village and women owned. “What I love about Colonial Village is the location, tucked away and private so my cli- ents can come, relax and feel pampered in a spa like set- ting. I have been at Colonial Village for 15 years and con- stantly get positive reviews” commented Nicole. Indus Translations offers expert and comprehensive multilingual translation ser- vice business is run by Farah Kamaran.
