With gratitude As teachers and school leaders took historic strike action to advocate for the teaching profession and for students’learning conditions, they received strong support that reassured them they weren’t alone. We’re taking a moment to reflect on the remarkable spirit of solidarity shown across our province this fall.

To our members

—the teachers and school leaders who stood together with courage—your dedication to students and public education has been inspiring. You reminded Alberta that teaching is not only a profession, but a calling grounded in care and commitment to our communities and our students.

To parents and families, your understanding and encouragement strengthened our resolve. You showed that education is a shared partnership built on trust and the belief that every child deserves opportunity and support.

To our students, your energy and resilience gave every step purpose. You are why we do this work.

To community members, businesses and partner organizations,

your acts of kindness and displays of solidarity affirmed that education is a collective investment in our shared future.

This historical moment was about more than collective bargaining, it was about standing up for strong, well-resourced classrooms where every student can thrive.

Thank you for standing up, together. Would you like to share a message of appreciation with someone—a colleague, community member or business—whose support made a difference to you? Download a thank-you note template here:
