THE BOARDING PROGRAMME
Heads up for Sam
Head of Boarding in 2015, Sam Wilson says he has been kept busy the last two terms and believes more boys are starting to recognise his role and the part he can play in keeping boarders happy.
“I think for the first couple of years, the Heads of House weren’t quite sure what their role was what they should be doing. Now I think this is changing. “I see my role as a link between the boys and the Housemasters and the all-important dining hall,’’ he says. “We need to make sure we are catering for everyone, especially in the boarding programme, and we have introduced new activities, such as the fishing trip for boys who want to do things outdoors.
“I am pleased I have taken on the role, as I like making suggestions and seeing improvements. Boys come to me and want me to be a voice for them. People know the Boarding Committee is there and we can do something if there is an issue. “It might not always get resolved the way they want, but at least they get a voice to say what they are wanting.’’
