CRICKET Third College cricket tour of England

With an impressive fixture card that was the envy of many, in April 26 boys and four staff set off on College’s third cricket tour of England.

The tour set a challenging itinerary of 22 fixtures and a day of T/20 fixtures at what Sports Director Rob Clarke says “really was a who’s who of public schools – Eton, Winchester, Wellington and Charterhouse’’. First up was Singapore where the boys played T20 matches against the Singapore Cricket Club. The main pitch is located on the Padang which is opposite Government House and is set in a picturesque colonial environment. “The challenge for the boys in this environment was adapting to the 30 degree heat and the boys certainly appreciated the short form of the game,’’ says Mr

Then it was off to Paris on an overnight flight. On this part of the trip the boys were not playing a match, so they had a cultural retreat for two days.
