Introduction Through the ages pious people, especially holy men, sages and yogis have sought to take shelter of sacred places for self purification and spiritual realization. There are seven major holy places enunciated in the shastras. But in the Kali Yuga the power of these tirthas diminishes, as the age itself fosters the degradation of all good qualities in mankind. However, as if to show special mercy in this age, Navadvipa Dhama rises as the crown jewel of all tirthas giving not only the benefits of the other tirthas, but thousands of times more benefit, culminating in Krishna prema itself, the final goal of all spiritual endeavor. “Of the seven holy places giving salvation – Ayodhya, Mathura, Gaya, Kashi, Kanchi, Avanti and Dwaravati – Sri Mayapur is the most important place of pilgrimage.
