NOTE: Some sign manufacturers will attempt to supply sub- standard, utility grade aluminum and pass it off as sign grade aluminum. The softer properties of utility grade aluminum make it useful in ventilation duct manufacturing and in the electrical industry for tie wires. The softer internal properties make it difficult to visually detect without actually testing the physical properties of the aluminum. This can be accomplished though a Whitney Hand Sheet Metal Punch or tested through an independent metal engineering firm. After time, signs manufactured with utility grade aluminum will begin to bend and deteriorate. ⋅ P.S.I. is defined as “ pounds per square inch ” ⋅ Tension leveling is a superior process of leveling sheet ⋅ The standard for non-tension leveled is 5/16 deviation from flat ⋅ All stated specifications are from “Aluminum Standards & Data” and The Aluminum Association Polystyrene/Styrene High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) offers a consistent, easily printed matte surface for either one or two sided printing applications. This polystyrene product, available in HIPS sheet or rollstock form, is especially suitable for digital printing of displays, POP graphics, signs, translights, WHMIS / TDG tags and cards. It can also be contour cut to any desired shape. 3M™ Diamond Grade™ DG³ Reflective Sheeting Series 4000 A state-of-the-art, full cube prismatic reflective sheeting that delivers optimal performance at most sight distances. Its optical elements return almost 60 percent of available light to drivers - nearly dou- ble that of other prismatic sheetings. DG³ sheeting meets ASTM Type IX and ASTM Type XI. It is designed as a replacement for many types of reflective sign sheetings in use today. It’s available in all standard traffic colors and fluorescent colours. 3M™ High Intensity Grade Prismatic Reflective Sheeting Series 3930 A reflective sheeting with a unique construction providing high levels of retro-reflectivity for mul- tiple traffic and commercial situations. Non-met- alized microprismatic lens reflective sheeting is designed for production of reflective durable traffic control signs, work zone traffic control devices and delineators that are exposed vertically in service. Exceeds ASTM D 4956 Spec Type III and IV. 3M™ Engineer Grade Prismatic Reflective Sheeting Series 3430 meets ASTM D4956 Type I and is a non-metalized, microprismatic lens reflective sheeting designed for production of non-critical traffic control signs, work zone devices and delineators that are exposed vertically in service. 3M™ Sign Vinyl Films (Non-Reflective) Vinyl is the facing material used most widely in the commercial and safety sign industry. It is a highly versatile material, available in a wide range of colours & textures: translucent, opaque, mirror, etched, contravision or vehicle wrap. We can print hi-resolution directly onto white or transparent vinyl. Material has a 5-7 year life-span.
