The Story of ATS Traffic
Back in 1966 the only hazard delineation product on the market was the flare pot, a primitive device full of kerosene and a burning wick. A man named Lorne Hooper wanted to create something safer and more efficient. So, he went straight to the workbench and developed a revolutionary device consisting of a flashing light fixed to a steel barricade. Realising the value of what he created, Lorne took his vision to the next level by launching a small company called Alberta Traffic Supply Ltd., which at the time was the first established flashing light barricade rental company in western Canada. Armed with a handful of business cards and plenty of enthusiasm, Lorne introduced his product to the Edmonton region. The rest is history.
Over the years, Lorne kept meeting the growing needs of the construction industry. His company scaled in size. As a result of his valiant efforts, ATS Traffic has expanded to become the largest 3M-certified sign manufacturer and traffic control specialist in Canada. ATS Traffic works diligently with road safety leaders and municipalities to help build safer communities.
