“We received feedback that people felt reconnected with College and others, who had not had a previous association were so impressed by Garth’s vision and what College offers...’’ Simone Middleton
“Continental Caterers were very slick with perfect drinks and really delicious food beautifully presented and it was really great to have all the staff who came – such as Neil Porter - as it’s a drive of an hour or more to our house and that’s precious time when you are a Housemaster. “I have to say the evening was a crashing success, and the locals didn’t leave till midnight.’’ Old Boy Jonny Hazlett and his wife had a group of locals to their home in Winton. He says the visit was very well received and there was a good mixture of Old Boys, current and prospective parents. “Garth certainly had everyone’s ear while speaking of the new developments and intentions for the school in the future,’’ he says. “Comments later, especially from prospective parents, were very encouraging and positive.’’ The Ashburton home of Patrick and Simone Middleton was the gathering point for Mid-Canterbury parents, current, prospective and past parents and Old Boys.
Simone Middleton says the evening was very successful with more than 50 people attending. “Everyone had ample opportunity to speak with Garth, to ask questions to get to know him and Annie and to exchange a few humorous stories about past antics at College. “We received feedback that people felt reconnected with College and others, who had not had a previous association, were so impressed by Garth’s vision and what College
offers, that they planned to take their boys for a tour of College over the following week.’’ Other visits were to Marlborough, Wanaka, Arrowtown, Ohoka, Auckland and Tauranga.
