example of teamwork. “ Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the king doms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem. And whoso ever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with

and said, “ Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Ju dah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake . . . But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people” (Jer. 31:31-33). If you will watch carefully we shall see this mountain change from Sinai to Calvary. Look, sin is now on Christ’s cross, and the unbroken law is in the heart. The one who sees his sin on Christ will keep God’s law unbroken in his heart. Aug. 28, 1955 T o o t h p ic k s a n d T e a m w o r k OBJECTS: Twenty-five t o o t h p i c k s bound together with a rubber band. LESSON: Did you ever see a good ball game where there was no teamwork? No, I am sure you never have seen such a game. You have to have team work in the game of life, too, if you want to win. As long as these toothpicks .have teamwork and allow this rubber band to bind them together, it would be very difficult to break them. One, alone, can be broken easily. But, no tice how the rubber band pulls the toothpick back as soon as I start pull ing one away. This bundle of toothpicks reminds me of the people of God, who are bound together with the cords of love. A church which is bound to gether with the love of God will stand against all the powers of Satan. As long as the rubber band holds them together the toothpicks stand. (Stand them on end.) They have to stand together or they fall. They have to have teamwork. In the Book of Ezra we find a good

wide by 2 ^ inches long, cutting the edge of each flap. In this gap print the word “ sin,” and below the gap in line with “ sin” the letters “ ai,” completing the word “ Sinai.” Fold again, and place the last fold to the left and the two folded sides to the right. About l 1/^ inches from the right side begin cutting irregularly toward the upper left-hand corner of

the paper. When it is unfolded you will have a mountain-shaped piece of paper with two halves of a moun tain hinged to both sides. With the flaps folded forward, outline a cross with a red crayon, following the sides of the gap, and continuing be low the gap a sufficient distance to give the proper shape of a cross. Near the bottom and to one side of center, draw a heart and place the tables of the Ten Commandments inside the heart. Open and draw a picture of the tables of the Ten Commandments near the bottom of “ Sinai” and make a broken line across the face of them, suggesting their being broken. LESSON: This paper is shaped like a mountain, to remind us of Mt. Sinai where the law was given to Moses. Down near the bottom of the moun tain we see the Ten Commandments broken. Israel had broken the Com mandments before Moses had re turned by w o r sh ip in g the golden calf. It is a fearful thing for a sinner to live in the presence of the broken law of God. The Lord spoke through Jeremiah

gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill-offering for the house of God that is in Jeru salem” (Ezra 1 :2,3). This was an unusual instance of teamwork, in that we find a heathen king working with the children of Israel in carrying out the command ments of God, and making it possible for His people to return to their land from captivity. God wants His people to be bound together with love and have a team work which will result in the salva tion of many souls. END.
