Summer is here, and with it comes an exciting season of growth, change, and celebration at Crooked Tree Arts Center (CTAC). As always, our mission remains focused on providing meaningful opportunities for our community to connect, learn, and grow through the arts. This year, we are thrilled to share several exciting developments that highlight our ongoing impact and future vision. HONORING A BALLET LEGACY We must first express our heartfelt gratitude to Miss Karrie Benedict, who has been a cornerstone of our School of Ballet for 17+ years and will be retiring from her teaching role this summer. While we'll miss her positive presence in class, we're excited to have her join as emeritus faculty for continued mentorship. Read more about Miss Karrie’s incredible career from the Petoskey Member Spotlight feature on page 3. A DECADE OF ART IN TRAVERSE CITY We are celebrating the 10th anniversary of CTAC’s Traverse City campus! Over the past decade, this vibrant space has fostered creativity, inspired artists, and served Northern Michigan through dynamic arts programming. To mark this milestone, we’re hosting special events throughout the year as part of a 10-month fundraising campaign, ensuring a bright future for arts in Traverse City. Flip to page 11 to find our schedule of events. WELCOMING THE SUTTONS BAY ART FESTIVAL We are excited to announce that in addition to the annual Crooked Tree Art Fair in Traverse City in July, CTAC will be managing the beloved Suttons Bay Art Festival, a longstanding tradition that brings artists and the community together. Join us August 2 and 3 at Suttons Bay Marina Park as we continue this cherished event’s legacy.

NEW FREE PUBLIC PROGRAMMING IN PETOSKEY In Petoskey, we are launching Immersed —a summer-long celebration of our region’s extraordinary aquatic environments through art, science, and community collaboration. With exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and camps, Immersed invites us to explore and appreciate Northern Michigan’s natural and cultural treasures. Check out pages 14 and 15 to learn more and see our schedule of free events. A FRESH LOOK & ENHANCED EXPERIENCE This summer, we are revamping our website to provide a more intuitive and user-friendly experience. We hope this makes it easier for you to explore our programs, register for classes, and stay connected with CTAC! Our summer is packed with incredible events that bring people together to celebrate creativity. Whether you’re attending an exhibition, concert, kids summer camp, adult workshop, or community event, we hope you’ll join us in making this summer unforgettable. None of this would be possible without YOU—our members, donors, volunteers, and supporters. Thank you for being part of the CTAC family. I look forward to seeing you soon!
