of Pete Birch and Colin Venner – as many other OAs will have done. Will took things to a higher level in his Gap Year in Nepal and has subsequently enjoyed whitewater rafting in The Alps, Canada, Norway, Uganda and Zambia. Sara has likewise continued with the sport and also risen to greater challenges. What caught my eye was an image of a kayaker in free fall over a high dam. I messaged her to see if it was indeed her; she confirmed that it was and also added that she had just completed a SUP (Stand up Paddleboarding) descent of the River Truckee near where she lives in Lake Tahoe. This was a six day/130 mile affair – so not for the faint hearted! They regularly come down to Sussex to visit Amelia’s parents. Alexander Bailey (2019) Outstanding CISI achievement award
