Area board elections coming soon
Elections for the South West and Southern Counties area boards take place this spring. The boards form an important part of the FMB’s governance. Members who want to represent fellow members and discuss industry issues should apply to join the boards when the application process opens. Watch out for more details via email, the FMB member app and on social media.

Energy efficiency and retrofit are key focuses for the FMB and Iain recently met with Claire Butcher from the National Energy Efficiency Centre (NEEC), which is developing a wide-ranging and extensive training offering for those already in the industry as well as helping to train and attract the next generation

Reporting on area board meetings
The Southern Counties Area Board heard from the FMB’s Chief Executive Brian Berry and the regional Bank of England agent. Discussions around market conditions and business confidence also took place. Both boards noted the upcoming area board election, stressing the importance of the wider membership taking part in this significant process.
Both of our region’s area boards held their first meetings of the year. For the South West Area Board, a busy agenda included presentations from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and FMB associate member Digital Buildings Ltd. Discussions took place on priorities for the year ahead and ideas to support the FMB’s ambitions for membership growth.
