Embrun Aeroparc hosts annual fly-in breakfast
the world—for sale for a mere $389,000. Other aircraft included a single seater helicopter, a float plane, and many vintage aircraft. One pilot commented that the Em- brun club had the best organized breakfast around and he made it a point to always come out to this event. Gilles Gratton of Embrun, one of the or- ganizers, was very pleased with the turn- out and looking forward to next year. The aeroparc has a grass strip and the club is currently building another hangar.

EMBRUN | The Embrun Aeroparc and Em- brun Flying Club hosted their annual fly- in breakfast at the aeroparc two nautical miles south of Embrun on St-Andre on Sunday, August 26. Several dozen small planes were flown in from as far Montreal and Southern Ontario. Breakfast was served to pilots, visitors and to curious onlookers from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. by volunteer members of the club. Weather was excellent, with a light wind and clear skies. An amazing selection of planes were looked over by flying enthusi- asts, including a 1940 Tiger Moth which was used a trainer during the Second World War, and the only 1953 Super Beaver Mark 1 in
This 1940 Tiger Moth owned by Otto Di- etrich of Montreal was used as a trainer in the Second World War, and took 15 years to restore. Its maximum speed is about 80 mph.

Township cleans out the bylaw books EMBRUN | If the municipality wants to attract more business and help build up the commercial tax base, then the Russell Township Industrial Park needs more wa- ter and sewer service. Council received a report from Economic Development Director Daniel Gatien on the need for expansion of services at the indus- trial park located at the intersection of Guil- laume Street and Highway 417. No decision was made as Gatien is still researching fi- nancial aid options. But council has approved one recom- mendation in the report allowing township administration to arrange a meeting with existing landowners in the industrial park to discuss a draft report on the estimated costs for full servicing of the industrial park with water and sewer. The township’s engineers have estimated $11.2 million would provide a complete water and sewer service system through- out the industrial park. That breaks down to $7.2 for sewer and about $4 million for water. The proposal from Gatien’s department calls for phasing in full-servicing of the in- dustrial park area with water in three stages. According to the proposal, the costs would be shared between the municipality and the current and future landholders on the site and a neighbouring private land- owner.
