snapshot of fall courses

Classes that get you moving!

If you haven’t managed to get into shape over the summer, you don’t have to throw in the towel just yet. If you’d like to start yoga or dance, for example, enrolling for classes in the fall is perfect: A lot of courses are given at this time of year and you’ll be able to move on to the next level during winter session. Exercise is a vital element in the improvement of physical and mental health. However, to maintain your motivation you have to find an activity you enjoy. Whether they are held in community centres, specialized schools or gyms, you’ll have a wide range of classes to choose from. Yoga, Tai-Chi and Pilates are great for stress management, flexibility, balance and muscle-strengthening. Even if these activities are done slowly, you’ll work up a sweat and improve your figure. If you are more energetic, try classes such as “workout”, “cardio”, “tae-box” or, a course inspired by military training, “boot camp.” Even men will be challenged by this type of workout. Dance classes are perfect for adding a bit of enjoyment to your daily life. It’s a great way of combining physical activity and pleasure. As a couple, you can choose social dancing, Latin or Swing, which are becoming more and more popular. These activities will give you and your partner moments of wonderful closeness and complicity while improving your flexibility and giving you a cardiovascular workout. If you are alone, don’t worry: Many schools offer classes for singles. The more adventurous woman may dare to take belly dancing or pole dancing classes; a man could choose hip-hop or break dancing for adults.
