AAMVA has recently updated License Plate Standards (Edition 2) to include best practices for temporary plates. • States are losing toll road and parking revenue from vehicles with temp plates • Criminals often use vehicles with fake temporary plates to commit crimes • States do not control temp plates - easy to purchase fake temp plates online
