LEARNER REVIEW MEETINGS
A Learner Coach is a dedicated educator who provides personalised academic support and guidance to students. Their primary role is to help students develop effective learning strategies, improve their study habits, and achieve their educational goals. Learner Coaches work one - on - one or in small groups with students to address their individual learning needs, goals and challenges. They also teach students essential study skills such as time management, and organisation. Learner Coaches help students set realistic academic goals and create action plans to achieve them, by providing encouragement and motivation, helping students stay focused and confident in their abilities. Learner Coaches regularly monitor students' progress, provide feedback, and adjust learning strategies as needed to ensure continuous improvement. They act as a mentor and advocate for students, empowering them to take control of their learning and succeed academically.
Learner Review Meetings are held in Term 1 and Term 3, following distribution of Progress Reports, and are in addition to a Meet and Greet session at the start of the year. During these meetings, parents/carers are invited attend sessions, alongside their child, in order to be an active and equal partner in the learning process. These sessions with classroom teachers provide updates regarding students ’ learning progress. Appointments are conducted in a hybrid model (onsite or online) for 10 minute durations and bookings are made via Compass.
