Recruiting

Recruitment Plan Best Practices

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE

 You do not have time to NOT hire- never say I am too busy to do an interview. How else will you get new people?  Never stop hiring, even if you think you are fully staffed. You can lose people as fast as you hire them. PLUS- you can begin to hold people accountable. Always remember the Bell Curve.  The person receiving internet applications should be the most available to make phone calls immediately. That person will not always be the owner. Make sure it is THEIR email address used for any contact information. OFFICE LOCATION  Your office location should be near the Staff- make it easy for them to get to work  Plot the location of your staff to find that best spot  Be near a bus stop

VARIATION IN YOUR PLAN

 Use a variety of methods- people search for jobs in many different ways  Online Recruiting  Display/Print Recruitment  DON’T LOSE YOUR NEW RECRUITS…..  Have a Friendly and Welcoming Office Environment  Offer Achievement Based Incentives

OVERALL NOTES

Stick to your plan- follow through is key

 Advertise the perks of the job wherever you can ex. No nights No weekends  Have extended hours- check your local unemployment rate- most you are looking for already have a job  Be ready for the interview- 1 st impressions count. They are interviewing you too
