Le financement du FOIC est destiné aux municipalités de moins de 100 000 habitants. L’argent est destiné aux besoins en infrastructures locales et les communautés qui reçoivent des fonds du FOIC sont auto- risées à placer leurs allocations annuelles, sur une période de cinq ans, dans des fonds de réserve spéciaux pour les plans de grands projets d’infrastructures.
La région de Prescott-Russell rece- vra plus de 4 millions de dollars de la province, en fonds d’aide aux infrastructures. Les huit municipalités et les Comtés unis de Prescott et Russell (CUPR) recevront cette année de l’argent du Fonds ontarien pour l’infrastructure communautaire (FOIC). Le ministère de l’Infrastructure de l’Onta- rio a annoncé, le 20 janvier, l’allocation de fonds du FOIC pour tout l’est de l’Ontario. Le total combiné du FOIC pour la région de Prescott-Russell cet année est de 4 686 368$. Cela comprend 1 718 078$ pour les CUPR. Le financement du FOIC pour les municipalités individuelles comprend:
The Prescott-Russell region will get more than $4 million this year in Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) grants. The OCIF allocation is divided between the eight municipalities and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, for use on local infrastructure needs. —archives FUNDING PLAN APPROVED FOR DRAIN UPGRADE A funding plan is approved for necessary improvements to a municipal drain in Alfred-Plantagenet Township, though some landowners living along the drain path question why they have to share the cost. Alfred-Plantagenet Township Council ap- proved a bylaw , during its January 14 ses- sion , authorizing needed improvement work on the Michel Viau municipal drain, located in the area between County Roads 26 and 19. The last upgrade of the drain was in 1981 and there is urgent need to redo part of the section from where the drain empties into UIF4PVUI/BUJPO3JWFS OFBS1MBOUBHFOFU Le conseil municipal du canton d’Alfred-Plantagenet a approuvé un plan d’amélioration du drain municipal Michel Viau, qui dessert les propriétés rurales situées entre les routes de comté 26 et 19. The United Counties of Prescott and Rus- sell (UPCR) is providing $125,000 for culvert work on the part of the drain located below County Road 26. The remaining estimated $119,000 cost for the improvement work will be shared among the landholders with property along the drainage course.
