PROGRAMS

Associate of Science in Aviation Maintenance Science The A.S. in Aviation Maintenance Science is designed for students who want a solid academic foundation in aviation maintenance paired with FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification. In addition to core maintenance skills, you’ll develop competency in technical communication, aviation mathematics, physics and leadership. Designed to be completed in five semesters, this program helps you reach your goals quickly — allowing you to make a difference in the aviation industry without the time required for a bachelor’s degree.

Embry-Riddle's Department of Aviation Maintenance Science readies you for a career that ensures the integrity of aircraft and the safety of pilots, personnel, passengers and cargo on board. Careers in aviation maintenance are crucial in safeguarding the people and technology that make up the aviation industry. Through programs centered around the FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic’s certification program, graduates of the A.S. and B.S. in Aviation Maintenance Science leave Embry-Riddle with 48 credit hours of A&P technical courses and experience. These courses ensure that graduates are prepared for the world of aviation maintenance as they step foot into the workforce. At the Daytona Beach Campus, students learn in fully equipped labs, a dedicated maintenance hangar, turbine engine test cells and multiple training aircraft. Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance Science

The B.S. in Aviation Maintenance Science dives into the aviation industry, giving you a deeper understanding of aspects of aviation that go beyond aviation maintenance. In addition to the general education included in the associate degree, you will grasp concepts like financial accounting, connectivity and cybersecurity, technical operations, aerospace safety and management. Building on the foundation of the A&P certification, students in the B.S. in Aviation Maintenance Science will pursue a minor course of study to enhance their understanding of aviation. Minor options include Avionics Line Maintenance, Aviation Safety, Business Administration and Cybersecurity Application and Management — giving graduates a tailored degree that helps them stand out.
