Youth20 is the official youth engagement process to the Group of Twenty (G20) and much like Youth7 severs as a platform to raise young voices to heads of states and government. In 2022 it was chaired and coordinated by Indonesia Youth Diplomacy (IYD), a youth organisation. Thanks to the participation of a Delegation from Indonesia at the Youth7 Summit in Berlin as well the close exchanges between the Chairs, in partic- ular with Chair Michael Sianipar, Youth7 enjoyed a fruitful and most valuable collaboration.
Ahead of the G20 Leaders’ Summit, […] reiterate the importance of the G20 upholding meaningful multilateralism, rights-based consen- sus-building and global cooperation that transcends political divides. Such global cooperation is crucial to yield effective action on securing an equitable future resilient to climate and ecological crisis, ensuring productive employment opportunities, and creating a just, inclusive, and people-centered digitally transformed society for all. […] The G20’s action – and inaction – have immense impacts and global reverberations, particularly on countries and communities that are not members of the forum. We emphasis that the critical issues of today – the planetary emergency, global health, geopolitical conflict, and financial crisis amongst ithers – are global challenges necessitating global solutions. […] […] Finally, we call on G20 Leaders to incorporate youth participation across all decision-making processes at all levels on all issues, so as to create a blueprint for a sustainable, liveable, and equitable future. Nothing about us without us. Only by acting in concert and with solidarity can we Recover Together, Recover Stronger.
