Your Oviedo Dentist December 2017

Dental Bits

We all know that person who secretly has all their holiday decor at arm’s reach in November, just waiting for the green light to start decorating. The candles are ready to be lit, their holiday playlists have been meticulously assembled, and their lights are already strung and turned on before Thanksgiving leftovers are gone. In contrast, there’s that person who dreads the holidays and gets dragged into December kicking and screaming. Theywalk into a Christmassy place with a gas mask for the candles, ear plugs for the music, and sunglasses to block out the lights. The true magic of the season is the ability for both of these types of people to come together in a spirit of giving to help one another in a time of need. This is why every December brings us our favorite day of the year — the daywe get to host Dentistry FromThe Heart and serve our community. Thanks to the 30-plus dental professionals who dedicated their time to giving back, we were able to serve hundreds of patients in need of dental care. Whether with a filling, cleaning, or even an extraction, Our Favorite Day of the Year Grinch or Not, We Can All Rally Behind Service

we were fortunate enough to have these experts volunteer their services free of charge. We love this day so much because of how important it is to us to use our skills to serve others. Many of our participants wouldn’t have had access to proper dental services without this event, and so it was truly a gift to give it to them. In addition to working with Dentistry FromThe Heart, our team members donated their pay on this day to the Hope Foundation, and every donation was generously matched by Dr. Lopez. This year, we were able to donate over $2,000 to the Hope Foundation, and we performed over $15,000 in dental services! We are extremely excited to host this opportunity next year when we are in our new location and have room to serve even more patients. Whether you’re a Grinch or a Christmas lover, we think that this is something everyone can rally behind.
