The program also hosts the annual Loyola Blakefield Cyber Challenge, which in 2024 brought together over 170 competitors across 57 teams — making it the largest in-person high school cybersecurity competition on the East Coast. 1 Impact In 2016, The Edward St. John Foundation was the first organization to support Loyola Blakefield's Cyber Science Informatics Program (LBCSI). The program provides students with industry-caliber skills required by today’s fastest growing employers, and offers them the most advanced opportunities to apply those skills in the classroom. This benchmarking initiative serves as a model for school systems around the world. Students have the ability to test drive their future careers and understand the long-term meaning of their college selection and other major life choices while in high school.
