Continue to compare the effectiveness of active vs. passive surveys as part of our move towards non-invasive methods. Social & Cultural Changes: Continue to work with the community to develop an understanding of the importance of these animals and dispel any misinformation about them. Distribute informational posters communicating the importance of not disrupting stream habitat (stacking rocks). Develop legal protections for hellbenders- against moving rocks and killing them.
