89.1 THE BASH IS 50 YEARS OLD The Wabash Valley College radio station, 89.1 The Bash, turned 50 years old this year! The station celebrates 50 years of being on-air as a 50,000-watt station and rocking the tri-state with alternative music! The radio studio is in the science building within the radio and television department. To commemorate the event, there will be special promotions for the year, including voices of alumni on The Bash! There is also a documentary in the works from the 89.1 crew to show the history and stories of the station. Students in the radio/tv program can go on air and talk over the radio while jamming to alternative rock music! Students can also produce their own radio shows if they so choose. The two currently airing radio shows on 89.1 are The Road Home Show, hosted by Rebecca Barker and Rylan Robb (Thursdays 2-4 p.m.), and Members Only (Fridays 4-6 p.m.), hosted by Zane Spivey. If you’re interested in going on air yourself, be sure to contact Kyle Peach (peachk@iecc.edu). BY RYLAN ROBB
