ST. FRANCIS-XAVIER STUDENTS CELEBRATED DURING GRADUATION

On June 27, 62 students from St. Francis-Xavier Catholic High School crossed the graduate stage. “I want to congratulate each and every one of you,” said Vice-Principal Tracey Clarey, during the ceremony that took place in the school gymnasium and welcomed over 100 parents, friends, and family members of the graduates. During the graduation, several students were hailed for their high grades. Amongst them were A. J. Beaudette, David Cadieux, Isaac Conroy-St.Amour, Frederick Gagnier Sydney Kravitz, Cassidy Laflèche, Takuya -BQMBOUF -PHBO.BD%POBME "EBN.BSUFM  and Jaime Pepper, who all were recipients of the coveted St. Francis Xavier Highest Dis- tinction Award. The latter honored students who achieved minimum overall average of 90 per cent in six grade twelve courses. The St. Francis Xavier Christian Outreach BXBSEXBTIBOEFEUP-PHBO.BD%POBME5IF Ontario Lieutenant-Governor Community Vol- unteer award, given to a graduating student in honor of his or her exemplary community contribution or outstanding achievement through volunteering activity, was given to Cassidy Laflèche, who also obtained the Ontario Catholic Student Award. .PSFUIBOCVSTBSJFTXFSFIBOEFE out to graduates, offered by various local businesses.

SUMMER SUNSHINE FOR WARDEN’S GOLF

Van Every, Raven Webber, Abby Westbrook BOE,JFSB:VJMM Westbrook also took home the Lieutenant Governor’s Community Volunteer Award. The award is given to a student who not only completed the required number of volunteer hours to graduate, but who went above and beyond. Blain, on the other hand, was awarded the prestigious Governor General’s Aca- EFNJD.FEBM The medal is awarded to the student graduating with the highest-grade point average.

Rockland District High School graduates sported proud smiles on June 27. Several students were honored with vari- ous awards during the school’s graduation day. The first official day of summer was all sunshine and good cheer at the Hawkesbury Golf and Curling Club, for the June 21 teeoff of the Annual Warden’s Golf Tournament. Posing for a photo by the fairways are Alfred-Plantagenet Township mayor Stéphane Sarrazin, Chantal Roy, mayor Robert Kirby of East Hawkesbury Township, this year’s warden for the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, Louise Morin, and Yves Laviolette. A tally of the proceeds from the tournament is in progress, and funds will be distributed later in the year among a variety of local charities and non-profit groups selected by Kirby. — supplied photo
