Dear Colleagues

As we march into the second half of 2019, its time for us to reflect on our performance in the quarter gone by.

The country witnessed the emergence of a new government and the effects of the election month impacted our financial performance. Economic turbulence will slowly and surely give way to an era of stability very soon. We have shown tremendous resilience during this tough period and with the outlook poised to improve, I am sure we will emerge with flying colours. Many training programs were conducted during this period as learning and development continues to be a key focus. We have, as a team done well and shown good improvement in our Trust You scores. I would like to thank each and every team member for their stellar contribution so far and look forward to creating many more success stories together.

Lobby Décor - Mother’s Day by Mathew & Team

Amma - There is no explanation. Mother, Ma, Mum, Mom, Aai, Amma.

We are pleased to share this piece of art, which is dedicated to motherhood. This floral display symbolizes care and sacrifice of a mother for her beloved child. Just like the Sun that relentlessly gives its sunshine to us every morning; a mother is someone who does not hold anything back when caring for her child.

Lobby Décor – Easter Special

This Easter, Shangri-La hotel Bengaluru displayed Easter eggs which are unique because of the materials that were used in making it. Our team conceptualized the idea of an Easter egg completely made out of recycled paper around us. This Easter, we made an effort to not use any plastic or Styrofoam material while designing our lobby décor items.

Our commitment towards offering sustainable and innovative visual

delights to our guests continues to drive forward through such initiatives. The spirit of Easter is all about hope, love and joyful living. We hope that our idea of Easter eggs made out of recycled paper, brings about a wave of new sustainable initiatives that will help create awareness about recycling and reusing materials.

WAVE DAY CELEBRATIONS

Our Finance and F&B Service teams hosted Wave Days in the Month of May & June respectively and the theme was based on current affairs such as the Indian general election and the ICC Cricket World cup. With wonderfully performed skits, motion dances and menti Quizzes, the events were truly entertaining & informative.

DELHI FOOD CARNIVAL Dishes specially curated by our Executive Chef GAGANDEEP SINGH SAWHNEY were savored by our colleagues during this food fest in café Suggi.

UGADI CELEBRATIONS Ugadi is a festival celebrating New Year's Day for Hindus from the Southern states of India. The term Ugadi means 'beginning of a new age. A special south Indian feast was prepared for our colleagues at café Suggi to rejoice this special day. Colleagues were served food on the traditional banana leaf to mark this auspicious occasion.

Chinese Cuisine Wok competition

Our talented chefs at SLBL conceptualized interesting dishes for the Chinese WOK Cooking competition. A total of 7 participants came-up with indigenous recipes and classic twists to relish the taste buds of our judging panel.

WHO WORLD FOOD SAFETY DAY

SOHA State of the Hotel Address April 29, 2019 More than 400 colleagues attended this session that was held at our hotels Grand Ballroom. EXCOM members and other department heads shared key information about hotel revenue, performance for the first quarter of the year and upcoming employee activities. The chairwoman's video on the Sri Lanka attacks was also showcased and a moment of silence was observed for our slain colleagues. To round off the event, the long service awards were presented to our most loyal colleagues completing 5 years with the brand

Global Wellness Day June 2019

We said 'Yes' to health, happiness and inner well-being with an initiative taken for our guests, colleagues and embrace partners by organizing yoga, zumba and sound therapy sessions followed by a healthy Breakfast

Vaani NGO Sensitization around hearing impaired people

This was a session conducted by NGO Vaani on sensitisation towards the social and emotional needs of hearing impaired people and their families. This session will help us serve our specially abled guests and colleagues in a better way.

Responsible Menstrual Hygiene This session was meant to impart knowledge and empower our colleagues on the subject of Menstrual Hygiene. It also presented them with options and the pros and cons of various methods of hygiene.

CHARITY BAZAAR June 2019

The Charity Bazaar was held this year with the purpose of raising funds for a washing machine to be provided to our embrace beneficiary Angel’s orphanage. With delicious snacks and an array of items on sale such as clothes, shoes, cutlery, toiletries etc. the bazaar was a huge hit and the total collections for the day amounted to INR 31,600.00 which exceeded our expectations

FREE EYE CHECKUP CAMP Conducted for colleagues at SLBL. A total of 70 colleagues attended this camp organized by Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital.
