INVITATION The Municipality of Casselman is seeking 25 volunteers with an interest in the future of the municipality and its region. The chosen volunteers will be part of a “participating community” and will represent the residents of Casselman during workshops as part of the strategic planning in community economic development of Casselman. The workshops will also be attended by economic development professional consultants, from the Canadian Centre for Leadership and Evaluation (Le CLÉ), with expertise in the field of the economic development. CAs a participant, you will be actively involved during the workshops. You could act as an “architect” in building the Casselman of your dreams. We will be gathered to build proposals together on themes suggested by the consultants. The workshops will favor mutual listening, sharing of knowledge specific to each other in the represented field. We aim to achieve concrete results by implementing scenarios and projects that will be part of the Municipality of Casselman’s strategic development plan (community development). Each member of the participating community must be committed to participate in five workshops. All workshops will take place in the evening from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Community Hall, JR Brisson Complex in Casselman. INVITATION Lamunicipalité de Casselman est à la recherche de 25 bénévoles qui ont un intérêt pour l’avenir de la municipalité et de sa région. Les bénévoles choisis formeront une «communauté participante» et représenteront les citoyens de Casselman lors d’ateliers dans le cadre du processus de planification stratégique en développement économique communautaire de Casselman. Ce travail sera accompagné par des consultants professionnels du Centre canadien de leadership en évaluation (Le CLÉ) qui ont l’expertise dans le domaine du développement économique. Comme participant, tu seras actif tout au long des ateliers. Nous t’offrons d’agir comme «architecte» dans la construction de ton Casselman de rêve. Nous serons tous rassemblés pour construire ensemble des propositions autour de thèmes proposés par les consultants. Les ateliers favoriseront l’écoute mutuelle, le partage des connaissances spécifiques à chacun dans le domaine qu’il représente. Nous visons l’atteinte de résultats concrets par la mise en place de scénarios et de projets qui s’inscriront dans le plan de développement stratégique (en développement communautaire) du Village de Casselman. Chacun des membres de la communauté participante devra s’engager à participer aux cinq ateliers. Tous les ateliers se dérouleront en soirée, soit de 17h à 20h, à la salle communautaire du Complexe JR Brisson, à Casselman.

The Russell Kin Club is only two and a half years old, but it has won six of a possible seven awards at their recent Zone Conference held March 8 in Pembroke. The Zone consists of 10 clubs. Awards won include the Claudia Foote-Mabel Sleeman Service Award for the Winter Carnival project, which was a new initiative this year. The club alsowon the Conference Costume Award, the Conference Skit Award for a skit written by Joe McInnis and directed by Bill McInnis, and the Conference Participation Award. The Joe Gunn Speakers Award was won by Cindy Anthony. For the second year in a row the Russell club alsowon theBobPearsonOutstandingClubAward.This year club members agreed they will add the organization of the 15th Annual Poutmasters Mud Pout Fishing Derby, which will be held on the Castor River April 25-27. Serge Frigon, Dave Dallaway, Bill McInnis, Cindy Anthony, Doug Anthony and HelenMeinzinger are shown at the Kin Club Zone Conference held March 8 in Pembroke, where the Russell Kin Club won six of seven awards.

The official selection of participants will take place the week of March 31, 2014 and selected participants will then be informed.
