The Role of a

AQUATICS

Days not having to use rescue and first aid skills are great days for lifeguards for one reason: their job of cautioning swimmers and preventing unsafe use of the pool resulted in a safe aquatic experience. The skills learned as a certified lifeguard have helped prepare past and present staff for responding to emergencies that they have or will encounter in their lives. Rescues and emergency responses are not the only responsibilities that our lifeguards have. Ensuring that the facility is safe, clean and set up for different activities are part of their core responsibilities. From checking pool chemical levels, to cleaning floors and high-touch surfaces, our staff members are working hard to provide a safe environment for you to enjoy.

PREVENT Caution swimmers against unsafe use of the pool. MONITOR Provide surveillance to assigned area and search for swimmers in distress. RESPOND Provide care through rescue, first aid and CPR.
