INDEPENDENCE PARK

HERITAGE PARK

Location: 3449 Pearland Parkway Year Opened/Upgraded: Opened in 1976/ Phase 1 upgrade in July 2019 Unique Feature: Independence Park was originally constructed and donated in 1976 to celebrate the Nation’s Bicentennial. Improved amenities include an ADA accessible playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, amphitheater, dog park and walking trails throughout.

Location: 3919 Liberty Drive Year Opened/Upgraded: Originally installed in 1999 Unique Feature: Heritage Park is nestled just behind the Train Depot (Pearland’s oldest standing building) that adjoins City Hall. The Gazebo is known to be great for a photo opportunity or to host a small wedding. The new spherical fountain head was designed and fabricated completely in house with park staff in 2017. This location is set to get remodeled in the coming years in an effort to restore the Train Depot with the help of the Historical Society.
