The Old Railway Bridge was originally built in 1884 and has been demolished twice. The first time was during World War I, only for it to be rebuilt in 1919 and then demolished again in 1941. Today‘s Old Railway Bridge was built after the end of World War II and was Belgrade’s only railway bridge across the Sava until the construction of the New Bridge in 1979.
