RITAM GRADA RHYTHM OF THE TOWN

The building of broadcaster Radio Belgrade, located on the corner of Hilandar and Svetogorska streets, is compared to the building of BBC radio in London, but it was actually constructed to cater to the needs of the Association of Craftsmen. Particularly reminiscent of this is the ‘Blacksmith’ sculpture situated above the en- tranceway, which represents a man and a boy behind a pedestal with anvils and a craft tool. The craft house was completed in 1933, in accordance with the project of architect Bogdan Nestorović, as a monumental building

This five-storey edifice on Terazije is the work of archi- tect Milorad Ruvidić, built between 1910 and 1912 as the house of merchant Milan M. Stefanović. Its unique façade is certainly among the most beautiful in the city. Shaped by the balconies and terraces of its upper floors, it is addi- tionally adorned with secessionist decorative floral and ge- ometrical elements. It has been known by its present name since the period when the building housed a branch of the Smederevska Credit Bank, while it still fulfils its purpose to- day as a residential and commercial building, while repre- senting an extremely important monument of culture.
