Nadaleko čuveni prvi Versaće butik, u ulici Via Montenapoleone postoji još od 1978. godine The first ever Versace boutique has existed in Via Monte Napoleone since 1978

your starting point to be the Piazza del Duomo, the main city square, home to the imposing cathedral that represents the symbol of this city and in close proximity to the most renowned streets for fash- ion. You arrive at Milan’s second most visited destination, La Scala opera house, via the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a shopping arcade where the boutiques of all prestigious Italian brands are located side by side. Valentino, Miu Miu, Giuseppe Zanotti, Armani, or any others that might cross your mind, are all right there, in one place – cloth- ing, footwear and accessories yearned for by those whose holy trin- ity is Fashion TV, Elle Magazine and Harper’s Bazaar. Apart from the Galleria, the city’s main shopping district is the Quadrilatero della Moda, which is often referred to as the Golden Quadrilateral and contains the most prestigious shopping streets: Via Monte Napoleone, Via della Spiga, Via Sant’Andrea, Via Manzoni and Corso Venezia. According to eminent fashion magazine Vogue, the top street is the Via Monte Napoleone, which was this year de- clared the most expensive street in Europe. And how could it not be, when it is home – besides the boutiques of Balenciaga, Jim- my Choo, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen shop – to the world-renowned first ever boutique of Versace, which has existed on this spot since 1978. Although the famous Gianni died two dec- ades ago, his sister, Donatella, now in her 63rd year, still creates el- egant dresses from season to season, featuring distinctive baroque motifs and inevitable depictions of Medusa. The latest collection with the Versace signature has been evaluated by many reputable critics as the biggest hit of 2018. Still, Milan also offers a rich offer for those who aren’t prepared to set aside several hundred or thousand euros for branded items. You will find slightly less grandiose boutiques that nevertheless boast sig- nificant collections of lesser-known local designers in the streets Via Dante, Corso Buenos Aires, Piazza San Babillo or the very avant-gar- de Porta Ticinese. All in all, you are awaited by a tour that you won’t easily forget...
